[USCC] FW: San Jose's Zero Waste Plan is Online!

Greetings to all,

 

San Jose's Zero Waste Strategic Plan and new Zero Waste Website were
published today and the item has been agenized for the City's Transportation
and Environment Committee on Monday December 1.

 

In addition to solid waste diversion, the Plan is an integrated effort to
address multiple initiatives including: EP3, pollution prevention, economic
development, planning, Producer Responsibility, litter, schools
environmental education, financing, carbon emissions, energy generation,
Treatment Plant Master Plan, The City's Green Vision, legislation, regional
collaboration, and more issues that contribute to a sustainable city.
Several in-depth appendices were created for this project including a Needs
Assessment, Infrastructure Assessment, revenue opportunities, and an energy
conversion technology report.
