[USCC] Compost Use in Flood Defense

Filtrexx is interesting. They claim their "filter media" isn't just "compost in socks." In fact, they say it isn't compost or mulch, even though it is "organic material."

Here's compost and mulch connected to flood defense with two degrees of separation:

1. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Resource Conservation District, formerly the Soil Conservation Service, has provided partial reimbursement to farms and ranches using mulch (sheet application) and compost (with planting) to prevent hillside erosion.

2. Hillside erosion leads to sediment in waterways.

3. Sediment in waterways can contribute to flooding.

I don't expect the original posting (from Ron) was imagining windrows functioning as a dyke, so that's as close as I can get.
