[USCC] PAH in Compost

Dear All:
Ron, PAHs can be in food waste. Any well browned food contains PAHs!
Burned food on pans. Soot on pans. Use your imagination. PAHs are
natural. The really big ones are not as readily formed from lower
temperature processes, but lots of the lower MS forms are present in say
the delicious part of a broiled steak.
Regards,

Subject: [USCC] PAH in Compost
Hello Compost World,
I am about to ask a sensitive question, so please respond directly to
me. I was contacted by a State regulator who has an issue with a
composter. They have found PAH's (actually TEH's) in a compost (and some
feedstocks) from a industrial food waste composter. The composter claims
that no auto related PAH's can be getting into their product (or
feedstocks), and claim that it is the food grade oils causing lab
interferences.
Has anyone out there had a similar problem? Is anyone out there required
to test for PAH's?
Thanks,
Ron?
