Carey:

It would vary tremendously depending on size, age and condition of
equipment, but one estimate I developed for a 12,500 ton/year leaf
composting operation here on the East Coast is $3.022/year/cubic yard
finished compost for a 12,500 ton/year open-air turned windrow leaf
composting operation. That included 1,824 hours of loader time, 384 hours of
straddle-type windrow turner time, and 360 hrs of trommel screen time, all
on an annual basis.
