[USCC] Roaches, mice and compost oh my...

I haven't had any experiences with roaches. For mice and raccoons, which
are generally more of an issue in the rural areas, Santa Cruz County School
Composting Program has started using 'Action Packer' bins and so far they
seem more critter resistant than the plastic bins we usually use. There are
lots of rodents and raccoons in the cities, but they seem to be quite happy
with the supply of dog, cat and bird food and are less likely to be
interested in a worm bin.

Greetings to all,
In teaching a class for teachers recently, I had a question about
vermicompost bins in areas where there are already roach and mice problems.
Do any of you have good experiences to share from school, or small scale
composting operations that already had infestation problems?
Thanks for any great ideas you can share.
Cheers Michele Young
