Hello Compost World,

There is a researcher I met in Europe who is looking for some biosolids, paper mill sludge and compost data from North America. I was hoping that someone out there could tell me if they knew if the following information existed, and if so, where I could track it down for them.

Compost
1. Case study or project where compost was used to reclaim a brownfield site. One in which detailed scientific data was collected. (soil data, biologic data, plant growth, etc.)? Any projects that may have monitored changes over time?
2. Research on composts effects on soil ecosystem development and improved soil function (N transformationm, beneficial microbe growth, soil faunal community response)?

Biosolids and/or Paper Mill Sludge
1. Case studies or actual projects where soils have been created in-situ using compost,, biosolids or paper mill sludge - perhaps comparing it to imported soil. Maybe something showing economics of the comparison?

If you have any data that would match these requests or have a suggestion who I may speak to to track them down, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Ron
