[USCC] cadmium in finished compost

Mark,
The average Cd concentration in compost is 2.36 ug/g from the >3000 
samples tested.
Dated info from a 1983 study in our area reports if the soil pH <6.5 the 
Cd concentration should be less than 2.5 in the soil.
The Santa Cruze County, CA. has a location where natural soils has high 
cd in the range of 2 to 6.5 ug/g Cd and is where the study was from.
 From the limited number of samples in this study I suggest growing 
lettuce, chard, and spinach  may be a problem on soils with a low pH and 
high Cd accumulation.

I'm sure there are much better and more recent studies to look at.
