Rod Muir asked about composting coffee grounds.
We expect to start composting some coffee grounds in our compost research
silos within the next couple of weeks. As we do with all feedstocks that
we test, we'll be monitoring a number of variables, including the volume of
aeration required to hold the CO2 level in the off-gas between 1 - 2%. And
all feedstocks that enter our research silos, for responsible odor control,
the off-gas from early stage compost goes through our Dynamic Bio-Filter
system which has proven itself very effective at scrubbing foul odors.
For those interested in our research, we suggest you visit our website.
