[USCC] Using Compost for Revegetation after a Fire?

Dear Compost Community:

Is anyone familiar with any research or experience applying compost  
as an erosion control/revegetation effort after a wildfire?

Any lessons learned? Things to avoid? Any thoughts on how to convince  
public officials and land use authorities that this is a good idea?  
Anyone think this isn't a good idea?
