Our featured speaker is Dr. Harry Hoitink, Professor Emeritus at Ohio State University, a nationally recognized expert in the field of plant pathology and disease suppression. Dr. Hoitink will provide two keynote presentations: one on compost process variables and their effect on beneficial microbial activity and product quality, and another on producing composts that provide consistent broad-spectrum plant disease suppressive properties. Additional presentations by Rita Hummel and Andy Bary from WSU on their Compost in the Landscape Project and a presentation on innovative compost tea practices by Dr. Steve Scheuerell of The Evergreen State College, Sustainable Agriculture Program.
This event is an exceptional learning opportunity for composters, horticulturalists, orchardists, organic farmers or anyone utilizing organics in sustainable agricultural programs. Excellent opportunity for exhibitors!
