My apologies to Mr. Lewis for not fully explaining why Brix and compost are related. The point of composting other than to dispose of other peoples crap is to raise superior crops. If we determine that the goal is the final crop then anything (compost) that achieves that is wonderful. If adding Yarrow makes it even better and if a higher Brix reading is an indicator of this then why not?. A high Brix reading in the crop can translate to better disease resistance, frost resistance and better taste. It is also one of many tests used to ascertain soil fertility.
