Exactly, I agree with Geoff Kuter and the simple challenge 'Where are all
the dead bodies?'. If things were as bad as the doom-forecasters say, there
would be evidence of harm.
As part of what I considered due diligence of the programs I ran, I looked
for adverse effects and found none. I used high-end operational rates of
application in field conditions. We used randomised designs in triplicate.
One of the parameters we monitored was soil microbial respiration quotient
and we saw no evidence of stress from biosolids. We did see transient
stress from soil drying in summer and from a selective herbicide (applied at
approved rate) across all the plots including the controls.
I have spent time with Drs Chaney and Rubin (as well as others involved with
the US rules). I believe them to be conscientious, honest, objective and
[above all] very well informed scientists. I do not believe that either
would participate in any sort of coverup. I am sure that if they found an
adverse effect they would investigate it.
