I am not sure how to tell y'all, but I fail to understand what "brix" might possibly have to do with compost quality. As a chemist with over 4o years experience, I can tell you with some assurance that the brix test is a measurement of water density used in the sugar industry as a crude measure of sugar content of water solutions such as molasses. Any soluble salt will affect the brix reading. Now, if you were composting molasses...
