Hi everyone,

I'll say up front that I haven't been following the discussion that
closely. I have seen mention of the lack of scientific documentation of
potential health and environmental hazards posed by the land application
of sludges. Here at Cornell, many researchers in different departments
have been working on this issue and there are some recent publications of
note that may add some valuable fact-based scientific information to this
ongoing debate:

Harrison, E. Z., Oakes, S. R. (2002) Investigation of alleged health
incidents associated with land application of sewage sludges. New
Solutions 12(4) 387-408.

sewage sludges: an appraisal of the U.S. regulations. Int. J. Envinronment
and Pollution. 11 (1) 1-39.
