[USCC] Response to Dave & Frank re: Vol 30, Nos 1 & 3 Regulation of various agencies

Ed,

WOW!! Lots of things can happen.

Composters can only do the two things I mentioned before; 1) make sure 
the temperatures are high enough throughout the windrow to kill (reduce) 
the pathogens to acceptable risk levels and 2) provide such an active 
composting situation as to degrade the most organic contaminants 
possible.  The contaminants remaining needs  to be sort out and removed 
from the feedstock. Its that simple.

If this is not good enough (toxins remain) there needs to be another 
method of treatment for the feedstock to blame be it yard waste, manures 
or biosolids. But lets not attack biosolids because it is icky. All 
feedstock should be under the same umbrella. And lets not dream up 
problems! We have enough as it is.
