                      Brasilia, March 31, 2000=20
                      Mr. Pgharr=20

                      I am interested in obtain more information on =
vermicomposting in Australia ( You referred to it in your email). Can =
you help me?=20
                      Thank you in advance=20

    I would support the approach recommended by Rosalie Green. And go =
further -=20
    these very formal prescriptive methods always tend to get screwed up =
with=20
    technology changes or new developments in technology and would it =
not be=20
    better to include something not quite so prescriptive along lines of =
:=20
    " or alternative methods that have been demonstrated to be =
environmentally=20
    acceptable". We do not know what is likely to be available in the =
future.=20
    There are many who believe soil application of biosolids is not =
acceptable,=20
    particularly long term and waste to energy is often seen as useful.=20
    Vermiculture is also a possible, and is used in Australia in at =
least one=20
    quite large system.=20

    As an Australian, I may be out of touch with US methodology / =
politicking,=20
    but any approach would be better from a credible national =
organisation than=20
    individuals [and some cannot do so because of work constraints]. =
This type=20
    of approach is common here.=20
